Gaian Press / Cupboard - made & designed by C.W.K. from 250 year old English Yew.
In Art Nouveau styling - An important Conservation piece, made to commemorate Colin's twenty years in the Conservation Society (1970-1990) - technically one of the most difficult pieces of furniture ever made!
The timber for this piece was cut down from a churchyard in Balcombe, Sussex. The tree was only cut down since this particular tree was close to a field of cattle and they had a tendancy to eat the poisonous berries.
Important features upon Gaian Press cupboard - top section is shown displaying two dolphins with a dove in between. Upon the dove's wing the following words are inscribed: O Mistress Gaia I beg of thee Let them not thy raiments fade. Above the dove a man & woman are carved upon protruding knots.
Numerous other unique features are displayed, on this exclusive piece, made to express one man's appreciation, for the planet he lives upon!
